Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas weekend in the Webb house.  Sal left us supplies to bake Christmas cookies for Santa.  Christmas Eve we spent at Grammy's with all of Daddy's family.  The girls loved opening presents.  The highlight for Melia was a Cabbage Patch Doll with ponies just like hers.  Makena was very excited about getting her very own stroller for her dolls.  Santa lifted Sal's magic so Melia could give Sal a high five and hug before going to bed.  Sal is going back to the North Pole with Santa tonight until next Christmas.  We left our magic key outside for Santa to get in and tried to get in bed on schedule.

Christmas morning we were joined by Grammy and Grandma & Grandpa Rulifson to open presents.  The girls had a great time.  Melia is a pro at opening gifts.  Makena is getting the hang of it, but usually doesn't get to finish opening a gift before Melia is volunteering to help!  Nonna & Grandpa bought Makena a microwave for her kitchen set that has lots of buttons that beep and a rotating turntable inside.  Definitely a favorite!  Melia's favorites are all her new dress up outfits and shoes.  The both got Disney Princess dolls that have a matching dress for the girls to wear.  LOVE IT!  We had breakfast and headed to church to celebrate the real reason for Christmas day.

The weather was BEAUTIFUL on Christmas.  After spending most the day playing with our new toys, we headed out to the beach to play and watch the sunset.  Then we took a drive to look at Christmas lights.  It was a wonderful ending to an amazing day.

Dashing Through The Sand!

Let's face it, we live in Florida.  No matter how many times we sing Jingle Bells, it is still 81 degrees outside!

This past weekend was more ho ho ho fun!  The girls and I enjoyed Breakfast with Santa at Chick Fil A.  Makena waved to Santa, which is a big step forward for her!

Later that afternoon we attended Cookies with Santa.  An annual tradition with some friends of ours and their kids.  The Santa that comes to this event every year is amazing.  He reads The Night Before Christmas, sprinkles magic elf dust on the Christmas tree, pulls out his list of Good Kids.  He is just great.  This was the first Santa Melia would approach when she was a baby.  And he had the same affect on Makena.  She wouldn't sit on his lap, but did go up to him to get her present and give a high five!

On Sunday, Daddy and Grammy took Melia to Pinellas Park Library for a Christmas celebration.  They watched a Christmas Super Why special, made crafts, ate snacks and of course, spent time with Santa!  Melia has only asked Santa for 2 things this year.  She is consistent with each ask.  Spaghetti and a violin.  Really hoping their is an Elmo Guitar under the tree for her!  And I guess we are having spaghetti for dinner on Christmas Day!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Another weekend full of holiday fun.  On Saturday the girls and I went to Great Explorations for their Winter Wonderland event.  Melia got to play with snow and even brought home a bag (that our Elf later got into!).  We painted ornaments (the studio was there so I couldn't resist!) and made marshmellow snowmen.

Sunday was the annual Grotto Christmas Party.  Melia was excited again to get a special visit from Santa Claus.  Makena still wants nothing to do with him.  Santa brought the girls a Grover Microphone and Cookie Monster Keyboard.  I certainly hope he brings them a Let's Rock Elmo for Christmas!

After the Christmas party we exchanged gifts with the Hunters, since they are headed up north for Christmas.  Then we all went over to the Florida Botanical Gardens to look at their light display.  Santa was also at the Gardens.  When Melia sat on his lap he started talking to me about getting a picture with Makena.  Melia quickly told Santa "Makena doesn't like you"!

Melia continues to open one book every night counting down until Christmas.  With each present she says "what can it be?" in the cutest voice.  She loves opening the books and it is always a fun surprise to see what story we will read each night!

Our elf Sal continues to visit Santa each night and reappear in a different location in the house.  Sal has played with the girls toy cars, made a chair out of Lego blocks, hid in the Christmas tree, brought Christmas movies for us to watch and even enjoyed playing with the girls gift from Aunt Laura and Aunt Lisa!

Ho Ho Ho

This past weekend was full of Santa!

On Saturday we went to Breakfast with Santa, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  When we walked into the restaurant, Melia saw Santa and ran across the room to jump on his lap.  It was adorable!  Makena wouldn't go near him.  We enjoyed our pancake breakfast in a booth right by Santa.  Makena would wave from her high chair to him.  Melia kept standing up in the booth and yelling "hey Santa look at me".  After we finished eating I took Makena out of the high chair to see if she would walk up to him on her own.  She walked, backwards right into me!  Melia ran up and gave him another hug and a high five.  She was the hit of the event!

That evening we went to Largo Central Park's Holiday Stroll.  There were a ton of great activities at all of the park shelters.  Local performers were onstage singing and dancing.  Melia wanted to sit and watch everyone perform.  She was so cute!  Santa was there also to take pictures with the kids.

On Sunday we went to JCP for our annual holiday photo with Santa.  Melia wasn't as excited about this Santa, but we did get some cute pictures.  Obviously from the picture below, Makena still has some issues with Santa!
