Easter in Quarantine

Easter week was interesting to say the least.  Not a single Easter Bunny picture this year.  The girls didn’t miss it, but I did.  We all missed Palm Sunday processionals and Stations of the Cross at the beach on Good Friday.  For Maundy Thursday the girls prepared presentations about the last supper and we ate dinner like Jesus and the disciples did.  It was a great new tradition to start.   On Good Friday we watch the movie Son of God.  It was hard for the girls to see.  They have heard the crucifixion story many times but a visual of it was a little much.  They both have a new appreciation for Jesus’ sacrifice after watching the movie as a family.  Saturday night we did a glow in the dark Easter Egg hunt in our back yard.  It was the only egg hunt we were able to do all year because all the public hunts we normally do were cancelled due to Covid-19.  Easter morning the bunny left the girls a scavenger hunt with clues leading them to their Easter baskets.  It was fun to have a little more challenge now that they are older.  The girls received cookie decorating kits and spent the afternoon decorating beautiful cookies.  Then they helped make our Easter dinner.  We had so much food, even though it was just the 4 of us.  We ended the day watching The Dog Who Saved Easter.
